FKBPS

Determines sensitivity of glucocorticoid receptor. Less FKBPS leads to better folding (better functioning) of the glucocorticoid receptor. Hypermethylation of FKBPS leads to less FKBPS and to better folding of the glucocorticoid receptor. => more sensitivity => better feedback loop => higher ability to stop HPA axis Hypomethylation of FKBPS leads to more FKBPS and to worse folding of the glucocorticoid receptor => less sensitive => feedback loop less efficient => less able to stop HPA axis
