Fibrosis-4 index (fib-4 index)

The fibrosis 4 (FIB4) index is a liver fibrosis biomarker that is a potential alternative to liver biopsy for diagnosing and managing liver disease. -------- Combines standard biochemical values (platelets, ALT, AST) and age -------- The formula for FIB-4 is: Age ([yr] x AST [U/L]) / ((PLT [10(9)/L]) x (ALT [U/L])(1/2)).
